This program is funded by the NSW Department of Health through the Northern NSW Local Health District (NNLHD). The aim of the program is to provide a structured mentoring relationship and respite support service for young people with emerging, serious or highly developed diagnosed mental health condition who are on the road to recovery. Referrals are made by the Youth and Family Team Case Manager in Community Mental Health or by the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Inpatients Unit prior to or upon discharge. The program is a psycho-social recovery based program and therefore is not suitable to service users who are unwell, experiencing symptoms of mental illness, or in acute stage of their illness.
